Floatin the Provo

Instead of going swimming in the pools this summer, we would float the Provo at least a couple times a week. This season I bought the "King Kool", thanks to a friends suggestion (Brookie). Everyone doubted me, but it made it through the entire summer without any blow-outs, and I only capsized twice. I was WAY more comfy than everyone else; I had a headrest, armrests, and cup holder. Rafts are for sissies are so are wetsuits (JT).

Riding

These are a bunch of photos of us riding this summer. We rode a lot up Little Cottonwood Canyon. I loved the granite and it's so green and lush up there....way different than A.F. Canyon. I loved it!

Top o' the Mountain to ya!

The Griffster and I hiked to the top of Timp. I hadn't done it since 8th grade. It was so hot on the way up, then once at the top, it was freeezing. We decided to go down the glacier, so I slid on my butt the whole way down. I really couldn't stop, so Griff had to go down the trail and make a human barricade. What are brothers for, right? It was so much fun! Oh, and I got to stare at the salt on Griff's face, which he refused to wipe off.

I HEART hippies

We hiked up to the Diamond Fork hot springs. The water was perfect. This trip we didn't get to see the usual nasty nudists---just some dirty hippies taking a bath.

Zion

We went to Zion last week to go canyoneering. It was the most amazing thing I've ever done. I absolutely loved it! Here was the crew: Eric, (our official tour guide, and friend), Nate, and I. We had so much fun. The first day we did Das Boot/Subway and the second day we did Keyhole and Pinecreek. Both of them were spectacular.

I need to give an official CONGRATULATIONS to Nate. He has finished school, passed his boards, and is now working in the ICU. I am so proud of all his hard work!

And yes, he does wear these coveralls when working on the truck. They are total floods (you can't tell from this pic) and they totally crotch him. hee hee.

Golf Tournament

I golfed in a golf tournament hosted by Alpine Home Medical with a group of co-workers. We had such a great time! We played at Talon's Cove and I really liked the course. Since I have a strange love of driving golf carts, I would have been totally content just sipping on my soda and driving around. It takes me back to my days as a beer girl......best job ever.

Camping

We backpacked up to the backside of Snowbird. It was such a pretty day. This is a photo looking down into Mineral Basin. We swam in the lake, then bundled up because it got really cold.

We were lucky enough to have a full moon that night. You can't really tell, but it was really bright. Special thanks to Toast for being in our pic.

AF Canyon

I've been dying to start climbing again. Thankfully, Heather and Austin bought new gear so now I don't have too :) We went up to AF canyon and Heather and I put our lurpy arms to good use. It was the perfect day to go out; cloudy and warm.

Moab Trip

We went to Moab with Brooke and Jed. They were so much fun to go on a trip with! I don't know what was better.....Moab Diner strawberry shakes, or running the trails. At night we went swimming, played horseshoes, and played any games that we could think of from slumberparties when we were young. Brooke won for the best game "Who-arted" (or something like that. I was laughing too hard to even remember).

Pittsburg

We went backpacking to one of my favorite spots over the 4th. We left in a hurry, so I didn't get to borrow Myken's backpack as I normally would. Instead, I was lucky enough to use one of Steve-o and Sherry's from 1970 (give or take abouple of years). I don't know why they didn't believe in padding back then, but they settled for mesh+very pokey wires. We had such a great time and we had the whole lake to ourselves.

Nate got just what he wanted for his birthday. We went out to Grassvalley, California and picked this up for him. We've taken it out a lot this summer. I'll post those pics later. We now officially fit in in Lehi.

Nate vs. Johnny

Nate has been growing his hair out for the past couple of years while he's been in school. Now that he has to grow up and get a real job, it's gotta go. I thought I'd post a pic before he cuts it:( I'm bummed because he finally looks like Johnny Depp from 'Blow', and he can officially rock the ponytail. So hot.

We finally got internet at our place. Since Comcast doesn't service this area (new develpment) we didn't know what company to go with. So, we went without anything for the past six months. I'm so happy that we are now connected, mainly for the convenience. Maybe I'll start posting more.

Moab 1/2 Marathon

Myken and I ran the Moab half-marathon a couple of weeks ago. Matt dropped out at the last minute so I was his fill in. We had so much fun down there. It wasn't as warm as last year, but still warm enough. Nate and Matt rode and golfed while Myken and I recovered.

TEN YEARS AGO:

I was in tenth grade at A.F. High and almost 16 years old. I was playing indoor soccer that season....and I think that Hemmy was my boyfriend. HA! We took a trip to Moab this same weekend(jeep easter weekend) with all the Anderson/Holmstead girls (8 of us). It was my first time riding slick rock, and it was painful, but it was such a fun trip.

FIVE PLACES THAT I HAVE VISTED.......in no particular order.

1. Western Caribbean-We went there for our homeymoon. I LOVED it!
2. The Mexican Riviera-We took a cruise with the Broadbent fam. The food ruled.
3. Oklahoma-Hottest and most humid place for a family reunion.
4. D.C.-Went there to visit Jake and Becki. It was great, thanks to our local tour guide, Becki
5. China- Went there with my dad in high school for a convention+touring. The Great Wall was definitely my favorite part. It would be great to go back.

FIVE THINGS ON MY TO DO LIST.......

1. Start my own company
2. Decorate my house
3. Travel this summer
4. Learn how to cook new things
5. Figure out my new camera

I ENJOY..... Running/Soccer/Tennis/Eating/Reading/Hanging out w/Nate + family/Photography...and the list goes on...

FIVE THINGS YOU MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT ME........

1. I didn't wear make-up or shave my legs until I got married.
2. I love Gatorade (Strawberry Kiwi is my favorite).
3. My arms are awkwardly long for my body (thank you Paul for pointing it out in 11th grade. I had never noticed, I guess?).
4. I have six brothers and no sisters (Nate's family is the same; 6 boys and 1 girl).
5. When I exercise, I get streaks of salt down my face/body. My friends dad suggested I lick my arms while running to get the sodium back in my body. I'm not that hardcore, but thanks.

Housewarming Party

These pics are from our housewarming party. My mom made all of the food and treats. It turned out so good, thanks to her. It was so nice to finally have everyone over. I haven't decorated everything the way I'd like it, but it's coming along. We are so happy to be in our own place!

1/2 Marathon

I just got home from Phoenix, AZ where I ran the P.F. Chang's 1/2 Marathon. I've never ran in such a big race. The weather was so nice! It was such a relaxing mini vacation. We ate a ton of really good food, hung out in the hot tub and watched movies. Wish I was still there.
